Silver Star awards $500 to Teton Valley non-profit

During a recent campaign, Silver Star Communications invited the local community to participate in a “community giving challenge.” Customers were encouraged to visit www.silverstar.com to vote for their choice of non-profit to win $500 in an online contest.

Employees of Silver Star donate to local non-profits

February 3, 2010– In 2009 Silver Star Communications began a new program called “Casual Clothes for Charity.” Essentially, this program allows employees to wear jeans on Fridays and in exchange they are encouraged to donate a dollar each week. With each dollar donation the employee is able to submit a local charity of their choice, and at the end of the year the company draws a winning non-profit from the employee entries.

FREEDOM, WY – Silver Star Communications plans to rebrand its wireless “PCS” company to more clearly represent the type of service they provide. Formerly known as Silver Star PCS, the company has chosen to rename the division Silver Star Wireless.

Silver Star closes Victor and Alpine stores

Driggs, ID -- July 30, 2009 – Silver Star Communications made a decision late last week to close stores in Victor, ID and Alpine, WY on August 29, 2009. Since the stores opened in 2006, Silver Star’s executives have met quarterly to review walk-in traffic patterns at each of the locations. The walk-in traffic at the two stores has not increased enough to justify staying open. Silver Star’s four other locations in Driggs, Jackson, Afton and Thayne remain busy and open.

Silver Star works with Swan Valley Fire Department on fencing project

The summer season at Silver Star has been full of community service projects. Split into ten teams, Silver Star set out to complete projects in Star Valley, Teton Valley and Swan Valley. The Swan Valley team explored several project ideas, ultimately choosing to work with the Swan Valley Fire Department on a fencing project.

Community partners launch 880-TEXT text line

Star Valley Prevention, under grant management of High Country Counseling of Afton, and the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) have partnered with Silver Star PCS to develop a Text Line Reporting system. This new reporting system will assist in fighting underage drinking, binge drinking in adults, and other problems of abuse, and any other crimes that plague the local community.

Swift Creek 5K Results
